These are our wonderful homeowners with their dog, Duchess who was born during Katrina and they rescued her. Larry and Karen have been the best--they have been home working with us each day. They have lived in a bedroom and a bathroom since 2008. We are the third team that has come to help him. They did not qualify for UMCOR funds, but did qualify for volunteers. Everything that they are doing to renovate their home is coming out of their pockets. Larry is a letter carrier, and Karen stays home.
The groups always have a special experience when they get to know and work with the homeowners. This is so neat.
